Can you print 4 color process, halftones, vignettes and other high end labels?

Yes we can... and more! Our printing process is flexography. It allows us to print even the most difficult applications beautifully. With the addition of UV flexo, rotary screen, hot stamping and embossing capabilities, our print quality and capabilities are among the best in the business.

What about coupons?

Instant Redeemable Coupons are a great tool to offer value to your customer. The graphics can be intricate and eye-catching, promoting sales of your product. Other value added options are recipe labels and extended informational hinged labels.

Can Macaran do color matching?

We can easily match any PMS color. For specially matched colors, we have the tools to develop the colors to sell your products.

If I have my labels printed flexographically, but other pieces of the product packaging are being printed offset, will the pieces match each other?

Flexographic plates are a polymer based plate material (similar to rubber) while offset plates are made of metal. Due to each printing process and the line screen count that is used, shades of color may appear slightly different when compared. With state-of-the-art technology, image appearance has become more equivalent. Give us a call and our knowledgeable staff will assist you.

Why do printers still charge art charges even though most art is submitted electronically?

There are many reasons why additional work may be required before the electronic file can be printed. A simple example would be to add trap where colors meet so the art can be printed flexographically. Art must also be stepped and repeated. These modifications are usually fairly straightforward and simple. Very often, however much more work must be done to art files in order to organize the files for printing. This work is time consuming and costly. By working together early in the project, we can often help you minimize these costs.

Is it possible to get a reasonable representation of how a printed 4 color process color will look without going to press?

At Macaran it is! With our Latran Prediction proofing system, Macaran is able to produce digital proofs with a system that is so carefully calibrated to our presses that in most cases an on-site press proof is not necessary. In fact, our customers often use our proofing system to test the effect subtle changes in their art will affect the look of the final printed piece.

I am a designer and I'm about to start a project that will be printed flexo. Is there anything I can do, or should know up front, that will help achieve the result I want?

Yes, a quick call to our customer service or pre-press department can save you time and money. Scanning options, proper resolutions, color concerns, available programs and die sizes along with general knowledge of flexography can be obtained by a simple call. The more flexo-ready your job is at the design stage, the more quickly your label can move from the drawing board to the production line. Our talented designers will be happy to answer any of your questions.

How do I determine which material and adhesive should be used on my application?

Review your application concept with our Research and Development department. Based on your concept, R & D will determine the best recommendations for your application. If bottles can be supplied, hand cut samples will be tested at Macaran. If results are good, samples will be sent to you for testing. Our team will work with you to be sure the right products are selected for the application.

What is your delivery time on custom labels?

Upon receiving art, normal turn-around time for new items is 10-14 working days after proof approval depending on the material, adhesive and how complex your custom label is. Repeat orders usually take from 7-9 working days. Faster turnaround is not uncommon- we will meet your requirement!

Do you service the variable information markets?

We are experts in variable information labeling, from stock selection to print and apply equipment, and now RFID. We print bar codes, sequential numbering and random information labels. We utilize this expertise to service security labeling markets as well. Call us so we can help solve your problem.

Do you have a product catalog including pricing that you could send to me?

Our company brochure shows some samples that we've manufactured. If there is a particular type of label you are interested in, please let us know and we will make it a priority to send you a sample of that type of work along with a variety of other designs and substrates. As for pricing, that is done based on individual application and quantity requirements.
